WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?

Occupational Therapy assists clients to do the things they need and want to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities. These daily activities are a person’s “occupations.”

A child’s main occupation is PLAY!

OT uses play to assist children to live life to their full potential by promoting independence, developing age-appropriate sensory motor skills, and adapting the environment to accommodate their needs.

Research shows that children with difficulty performing daily occupations and difficulty processing and integrating sensory information benefit from Occupational Therapy intervention.

-American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT)

Occupational Therapy has been recognized since the early 1900s as an evidence-based profession that combines the most up to date research with a holistic approach to improve client outcomes. -American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
